In our society, there are two main types of people. Those who follow trends and are all products of societal conditioning and social technology, and those who believe and act openly without feeling the necessity to conform. There are “sheeple”, also there are “old souls”.
This doesn’t indicate that one is worth more or less than the other. These are only words used to refer to the entire life philosophy of any given person. What is a free soul? A free spirit is one who is free from the external pressures to conform to societal norms pertaining to gender roles, diet, religion, hobbies, behaviors, belief systems, style, and types of entertainment.
A free spirit is somebody who just does not care if other people think that they are bizarre. They’re more worried about being true to themselves at any given moment, even if this means doing something or believing something which may go against the grain of their social conditioning.
Individuals that are free spirits tend to get bullied, excluded, and ridiculed a great deal for being distinct. I was bullied bad to be different and not fitting in, therefore this article is meant to serve the purpose of allowing individuals to feel comfortable and confident in accepting and expressing their uniqueness.
1) They spend their spare time in ways society thinks is “weird”
When free spirits have enough time to kill at the end of the day, they can spend it reading, going for a walk, or doing a religious practice like yoga or meditation. They may do some thing such as sit by themselves out for many hours at night just to listen to the crickets, write in a journal in a field somewhere, or stay up late studying doctrine. If it matches their mood, they have no problem spending a Friday night at home alone enjoying some quiet time. In reality, they may even get excited about the thought of doing this.
The typical American spends approximately 4-5 hours daily watching television. A soul that is free of societal programming and conditioning might not see value in watching television and may watch alongside none. It just doesn’t serve them because their mind has been freed from the limits of their herd mentality. When they do choose to indulge in amusement, they can choose it differently than others.
As opposed to turn on the tv and watch shows like Duck Dynasty, Toddlers and Tiaras, or some brain-dead sitcom, they will find themselves watching presentations and documentaries to enlarge their knowledge base, or even a movie using philosophical or spiritual themes inside.
2) They use drugs and substances with intention
I am not condoning the use of drugs, but it is hard to miss the obvious difference between the way drugs are utilized by people who are free from societal programming and people who are not. When drugs are accepted, they are taken ceremonially and with the objective of enlarging one’s consciousness or opening one’s heart.
They are used as a spiritual tool and a catalyst for internal transformation. The option of drugs also differs considerably. Ayahuasca, mescalin, psilocybin mushrooms along with other “medicine plants” are preferred over drugs like cocaine and alcohol. The choice of drug depends on whatever state of awareness will serve to add clarity, improve manifestation, and add meaning to one’s recent knowledge in life, as opposed to utilizing them for the intent of just becoming drunk.A free soul maybe find no worth in the pub scene or club scene, and would rather spend their occasions letting loose and indulging in materials at a music or spiritual festival of some type.
3) Reject anything mainstream
Mainstream music is heartless, passionless, and cleaned up. The mainstream lifestyle is dry, boring, hollow, and unsatisfactory. Even mainstream “fashion” seems unappealing and contrary to a normal expression. Since you realize this, you’ve embraced ‘alternative’ methods of thinking and living which may observed weird to other men and women.Personally, I listen to a lot of atmospheric metal and post-rock because it offers me what I need to receive out of audio.
There is nothing satisfying about watching the same shows as everyone else, listening to the same top 40 tunes as everyone else, wearing the same clothes, using the very same beliefs, and following the very same tendencies as everyone else. And this is because the entire mainstream music business, television business, and civilization is a scam to keep you spiritually ill and emotionally enslaved to maintain you a fearful mind dead consumer.
Embrace your uniqueness, and constantly give yourself permission to be true for your own unique tastes and preferences. There’s nothing admirable about moving with the herd from fear, and there is nothing fulfilling about living with the urge to conform. Just those who break free from the mental, emotional, and religious chains of social technology will experience life in the magical way it’s assumed to be live.
